Profiteroles recipe

Profiteroles are a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. These delicious puff pastry bites are filled with custard and topped with melted chocolate or caramel sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 4 eggs
  • Pastry cream, to fill
  • Melted chocolate or caramel sauce, for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat the water, butter and salt to a boil.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the flour all at once, whisking vigorously until the dough comes away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Remove from heat and add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Place the dough in a pastry bag fitted with a star nozzle.
  6. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  7. Using the pastry bag, form small balls of dough on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the profiteroles are golden brown.
  9. Let the profiteroles cool completely.
  10. Fill the profiteroles with pastry cream.
  11. Cover the profiteroles with melted chocolate or caramel sauce.

Tips:

  • Use high quality flour for best results.
  • Don't let the dough cook too much, or it will become tough.
  • Bake the profiteroles in a single layer so they cook evenly.
  • Let the profiteroles cool completely before filling them, or the pastry cream will melt
